Our tips will even help ensure your Disney packing list has everything you need for special events, Easter, and more!
This blog is all about what to pack and what to wear to Disney World in April.
1) Understanding the April Weather in Disney World
When planning your trip to Disney World in April, it’s important to be prepared for the weather conditions you may encounter. The weather in Disney World during April can vary, so understanding the typical conditions is super important.
The average temperatures in Disney World during April range from lows in the mid-60s°F (around 18°C) to average high temperatures in the mid-80s°F (around 29°C). This means you’ll experience mostly warm and pleasant days, but evenings can occasionally be a bit cool, so bring a light jacket or sweater.
Always be sure to check the weather forecast for your trip. My favorite site to check ahead of time is weather.com. It’s a good idea to check the weather the morning of each day that you head to the park, and an app like Google Weather is fine for this.
Whether it’s a sunny day by the pool or a chance of afternoon showers, being prepared for the April weather in Disney World is very important when considering what to pack.
3)How Busy is Disney World in April
When it comes to crowds on your April Disney Trip, be prepared for busy Disney Parks. April is a popular time for families and school groups to visit the park, primarily due to spring break. The park is filled with guests worldwide so school schedules can vary widely.
The crowd levels in Disney World during April can be quite high, especially during the first two weeks of the month when many schools still have their spring break.
Read on to learn more about what to pack and how to navigate the sometimes INTENSE spring crowds at Walt Disney World. But, if you need a proven strategy for time-saving in the Disney World parks (as well as packing, planning, dining, and more) check out my Pixie Park Plans- there’s one for each park or you can get the four park bundle!
Navigating the Crowds at Disney World in April
- Arrive Early: Try to arrive at the park before it opens. This is called rope dropping (there used to be an actual rope), and I recommend getting to the park 30 minutes before the actual park opening. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can arrive 40 minutes early, as they will let you in 30 minutes before park opening (called Early Entry).
- Utilize Lightning Lane: If it’s in your budget take advantage of the Lightning Lane system to reserve access to popular attractions in advance and reduce waiting times. This is an additional paid service and not mandatory, but it will save you time.
- Plan Your Park Days: Consider using a crowd calendar to help you decide which park to visit on specific days. Some days may have lower crowd levels than others on certain days, so structure your April Disney Trip according to these calendars to really maximize your time!
- Take Breaks: Plan regular breaks throughout the day to avoid feeling overwhelmed by the crowds. Find quieter areas of the park to relax, enjoy a meal, or take in the scenery. Epcot has some quiet spots in Japan, Animal Kingdom over by Flame Tree Barbeque or the Tree of Life, Hollywood Studios- it used to be Muppets Grand Ave but that’s changing so alternatively you can try the eating areas on Sunset Blvd, and at Magic Kingdom it can be trickier- Tom Sawyers Island is great (for now) but will be going away soon.

Remember, even with larger crowds, you can still have an amazing time at Disney World in April. You just need to plan ahead and be strategic!
4) What to Wear to Disney World in April
Given the above packing list here are some extra things to consider when deciding what to wear to Disney World in April- and some fun ideas to bring the Disney magic to your outfit!
Cute Outfit Ideas That Match the Disney Dress Code
- Disney has a dress code that prohibits clothing with offensive graphics or messages and clothes that are too revealing. Opt for family-friendly and fun outfits that adhere to the guidelines.
- Consider coordinating outfits with Disney-themed colors or Disney bound for your favorite character (check out this blog to learn all about Disney bounding) to add some fun. For example, red, blue and yellow for Snow White, Pale Blue and White for Cindrella, or Pinks and Lavenders/Lilac for Rapunzel.
- Accessorize with Disney-themed hats, ears, or accessories to add some extra fun. Loungefly bags are a great Disney park accessory, as are the multitude of Minnie Ears you can get ahead of time at The Disney Store, or the handmade versions on Etsy!
The Importance of Comfortable Walking Shoes
- Disney World involves a lot of walking (sometimes > 20,000 steps in one day), so it’s really important to wear the right walking shoes, meaning shoes that are supportive and comfortable and last all day without causing blisters.
- Choose closed-toe athletic shoes or sneakers that provide cushioning and arch support.
- You can pack sandals or flip-flops. Just be sure they have arch support and that you have tested them out so they don’t cause blisters. I like Crocs flip-flops or Oofos. These types of shoes can also be an extra pair of shoes that you throw in your park bag in case you get rained on. Check out my full blog on the best shoes to wear to Disney!
To stay prepared for changing weather conditions, consider carrying a small towel, extra pairs of socks, and a change of clothes in case you get wet.
Keep in mind that even during the rainy season in Florida, there are still plenty of indoor attractions and experiences to enjoy at Disney World, so don’t let the weather dampen your spirits. You will still have a good time. And the park clears out a bit in the rain, so the long lines can drop way down.
5 ) Disney World Events in April
April in Disney World is another month with special events and festivities. Let’s check those out:
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival
One of April’s best Disney World events is the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. This annual event showcases stunning displays of flowers, topiaries, and gardens that bring the park to life in a purely magical and distinctly Disney way!
During the festival, you can explore incredible garden displays, eat special festival food, attend presentations, and enjoy live entertainment. I adore the intricate topiaries of my favorite Disney characters.
Another fun part of this festival is the Garden Rocks Concert Series, featuring performances by popular artists.
Easter at Disney World
In addition to the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, there are other special events happening throughout the Walt Disney World Resort in April. Easter falls on April 20th, 2025, so you can catch an Easter parade at the Magic Kingdom if you happen to be there on Easter day.
And don’t forget to stop by for an Easter Bunny Meet and Greet on Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom.
Additionally, Disney Resort hotels like the Boardwalk, Beach Club, and the Grand Floridian have gorgeous Easter displays that typically stay up until early April, usually the Monday or Wednesday after Easter. These must-see beautiful Easter Eggs are artistically designed Disney character works of art- made of chocolate!

Packing Tips for Water Bottles and Quick Bites
When packing your park bag for a day at Disney World in April, don’t forget to include water bottles to stay hydrated throughout the day. Here are some handy and portable ideas for reusable water bottles you can clip to your park bag.
The second one is great if you want to have access to filtered water- Florida water is not the tastiest (I can say it- I’m a native and had to grow up on this water:)).
Additionally, pack some quick bites like granola bars, snack bags, or trail mix to keep your energy levels up during long walks and wait times for attractions.
Staying Hydrated During Long Lines and Hot Days
With long lines and potentially hot temperatures in April, it’s important to prioritize staying hydrated and fueled throughout the day. Fill up your water bottles for free at quick-service restaurants throughout the park to ensure you have enough water to keep you hydrated. Consider packing electrolyte packets to replenish minerals lost through sweating.
First Aid Must-Haves and Keeping Germs at Bay with Hand Sanitizer
Accidents and minor injuries can happen, so it’s always wise to have some first aid essentials in your Disney park bag. Pack band-aids, blister cushions, and pain relief medication to address common ailments. Additionally, don’t forget to bring hand sanitizer to keep germs at bay, especially after going on rides and attractions- April is a big time for colds and other viruses!
Travel Size Essentials to Keep in Your Hotel Room or Park Bag
Aside from your park bag, it’s also helpful to have some travel-size essentials in your hotel room or parkbag. These can include travel-sized toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer, though Disney Resort hotels have great choices for these.
Don’t forget travel-sized toothpaste, floss, and over-the-counter medicines like ibuprofen, tylenol, or even pepto-bismol just in case.
Having small travel sized versions of sunscreen, lip balm with spf protection, and cooling towels to pack in your park bag is super helpful too. Check out this full blog on what I pack in my park bag!
Staying Connected and Powered Up
In today’s modern Walt Disney World Vacation, staying connected and having access to a fully charged device is more important than ever.
When you’re enjoying your Disney World trip in April, you’ll want to make sure you can always access the My Disney Experience App and keep your devices powered up.
Tips to help you stay connected and ensure your devices have enough juice throughout your magical adventure:
Utilize Charging Stations:
Disney World offers convenient charging stations throughout the parks. Take advantage of these stations to give your phone, tablet, or other devices a quick boost. One great idea for charging at Magic Kingdom is to head to the Tangled restrooms area just past It’s A Small World in Fantasyland. Here you will find tables with charging ports built into them.
For other ideas check out this blog!
Bring Portable Chargers:
Portable chargers are a must-have when you’re exploring Disney World. Your devices can and will drain quickly with all the plans you have to make via the My Disney Experience App.
Invest in a reliable portable charger that can provide multiple charges for your devices. This way, you’ll have peace of mind knowing you can charge up on the go, even if there are no available charging stations nearby.
It can also help to buy some Fuel Rods ahead of time as you can exchange these portable chargers for a fully charged replacement at the parks for FREE. See my full blog on where to find fuel rods and charging stations at both Disney World and Disneyland!
Maximize Battery Life:
Consider adjusting some settings to make the most of your device’s battery life.
Dimming the screen brightness, disabling unnecessary notifications, and closing background apps can help conserve battery power. By optimizing your device’s battery usage, you can extend its lifespan and stay connected for longer.
Use Power-Saving Mode:
When you’re running low on battery, activate the power-saving mode on your device. This feature adjusts settings to conserve energy and extend battery life. It may slightly limit certain functions, but it can be a lifesaver when you need to squeeze out some extra power to check or make Genie+ reservations, book a mobile order for your next meal, or find your way around the parks.
Consider Battery Cases:
If you’re an avid Disney-goer and rely heavily on your device throughout the day, a battery case could be a worthwhile investment. These cases not only protect your phone but also have built-in batteries that can provide an additional charge when needed. It’s like having a portable charger attached directly to your phone!
A battery case can really help extend your batter life while at Disney!
By following these tips, you can stay connected to the My Disney Experience, take pictures, and fully enjoy your Disney World trip in April without worrying about your device’s battery life. Stay powered up and have a magical time!
The Wrap Up

By taking into account the weather conditions, crowd levels, special events, and essential gear, you can make the most out of your visit to the magical world of Disney.

And be sure to stay charged and connected to the My Disney Experience app by utilizing charging stations and bringing portable chargers, so you won’t miss any reservations, meals, or even meet and greets with your favorite character!
