Crowd Calendar March 2024
Planning your trip to Disneyland in March works best when you know the crowd levels for each day. While specific crowd predictions can be difficult, we can provide general trends based on recent years. In this section, we will discuss the crowd calendar for March 2024 and provide insights into which days might be busier or less crowded.
Early March
Crowd levels for Disneyland in March typically start out low and it’s often a good time to visit during the first week. In contrast to Walt Disney World in Florida, spring break crowds are more likely to get worse in late March here. However, 2024 may be hard to predict as Disneyland has not yet announced when it will wrap up its 100 years of wonder celebration. If they do this in early March and subsequently announce a new event or celebration, this may impact crowd levels.
In general, the first two weeks of March, March 1st-15th, are the best days to visit Disneyland in March. Continue reading for specific dates that are higher priced Tiers and, therefore, busier.
Mid to Late March
After March 15th, you can expect to see above-average crowds at Disneyland. Typically, the final week of March is the busiest week in the Disneyland Crowd Calendar. This is due to the spring break season in California and many of the surrounding states.
As always, weekdays and non-peak days tend to be less crowded than weekends and peak travel times. It’s also a great idea to consider school schedules when planning your March trip to Disneyland.
Weather in Southern California in March
Understanding the weather in Southern California during March is helpful for packing appropriately and planning your activities at Disneyland. March is a great time of year to visit Disneyland, but keep in mind it could still be a bit cold. Check out my what to wear to Disneyland in March guide to help you pack for the weather!

While March tends to be relatively dry, some rain is possible. It’s always a good idea to bring a light rain jacket or umbrella just in case.
When planning for your visit to Disneyland in March, keep in mind that mornings and evenings can be a bit cooler, so dressing in layers is recommended. As the day progresses, the temperature typically rises, so you’ll want to be prepared to peel off those layers and enjoy the Southern California sunshine.
Overall, the weather in Southern California in March is favorable for a magical Disneyland vacation. Just remember to check the forecast ahead of time, dress accordingly, and make the most of your time in the park.
Ticket Prices in Disneyland 2024
Knowing the ticket prices for Disneyland in 2024 is super helpful for budgeting and planning your trip. Depending on what day you visit Disneyland the ticket prices will vary based on prior Disneyland crowds in the preceding years, as well as festivals or special events (keep reading below for dates on these events). Ticket prices during certain times of the year are grouped into Tiers, with Tier 0 being the least expensive, and Tier 6 being the most expensive.
Peak Days
On peak days, which typically include weekends, holidays, summer months, and special events, ticket prices may be higher due to increased demand. These days tend to be busier, with high crowds throughout the park. It’s important to consider the following ticket pricing options for peak days:
- Single-Day Tickets: Prices for single-day tickets on peak days may range from $169 to $194, depending on the specific date. The highest priced ticket Tier (tier 6) dates for March are the 10th, 17th, and 30th. Tier 5 Single day ticket prices ($184) are found on March 2nd, 9th, 11th-14th, 16th, 18th-21st, 23rd, 25th-28th, and March 31st.

Prices may range from $65 to $75. For single day tickets the price would be $65 per ticket per day, while the multi-day park hopper would add $65 to $75 per ticket (not per day) depending on the date.
- Multi-Day Tickets: For a longer stay, multi-day tickets offer better value overall. Prices for multi-day tickets on peak days may range from $310 to $480, depending on the number of days. Of note the multi-day ticket prices DON’T vary in price. They cost the same for any day you visit.
It’s important to note that ticket prices for peak days and busy time periods are subject to change and may vary based on demand and availability.
You may also wish to consider purchasing Disney Genie + on select dates during a peak season at Disneyland.
Non-Peak Days
If you prefer to visit Disneyland during non-peak days in March, you may enjoy lower ticket prices and potentially smaller crowds. Non-peak days typically include weekdays outside of holidays and school breaks. Here are some ticket pricing options to consider for non-peak days:
- Single-Day Tickets: Prices for single-day tickets on non-peak days may range from $119 to $134 for Tier 1 and Tier 2 tickets, respectively. These tickets can be a great option if you prefer a quieter experience at the park. Keep in mind that there are NO tier 0 or tier 1 ticket dates for March. However, at the beginning of March, from the 4th to the 7th, they do have tier 2 tickets. There are some higher priced days in March, see above for more info.
- Park Hopper Tickets: Depending on the date, park Hopper tickets may be on the low end of the range for multi-day tickets at $65, or for a single-day ticket, they remain $65 per ticket.
- Multi-Day Tickets: Multi-day tickets provide more flexibility and value for a more leisurely visit. Prices for multi-day tickets on non-peak days may range from $310 to $480 or more, depending on the number of days.
Similar to peak days, ticket prices for non-peak days are subject to change and may vary based on demand and availability. It’s best to check the official Disneyland website for the most up-to-date pricing information and any current discounts or promotions that may enhance your visit.

Festivals, Seasonal Events and Special Events Calendar
March is a month filled with festivals and special events at Disneyland. These unique celebrations add an extra touch of fun and flavor to your visit.
Here are three major festivals or special events happening in March 2024:
Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival
Indulge in a culinary adventure at the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival. This festival offers a wide variety of awesome dishes, fine wines, and craft beers. Take part in cooking demonstrations, seminars, and tastings led by renowned chefs.
The DCA Food and Wine fest is lots of fun to explore, but keep in mind it can bring in larger crowds. In 2024, this festival takes place from March 1st through April 22nd, and larger crowds are likely to occur the first weekend of the festival, most weekend days, or during the last week of March.
Eggstravaganza
Join in the egg-citing fun of Eggstravaganza, a popular Easter egg hunt at Disneyland. Embark on a quest to find Disney character-themed Easter eggs hidden throughout the park. Pick up a map, search for the eggs, and mark your discoveries along the way. It’s a delightful activity for the whole family to enjoy together.
In 2024 this fun park (and nonpark) event starts March 18th and goes to April 9th, with actual Easter day falling on March 31st. You can choose from three different game boards, one for Disneyland Park, one for California Adventure Park, and one for Downtown Disney. So you don’t even need a theme park ticket to participate if you choose the Downtown Disney option!
The cost is $9.99 per map and head to this link to see where you can pick one up.
Additionally, Disneyland often features special Easter themed treats at various locations throughout the theme parks and downtown Disney.
Disney Channel Night Disneyland after Dark Special Event
Experience the 90s era magic of Disney Channel Night during this Disneyland After Dark Special Event. Enjoy exclusive access to the park, live entertainment, dance parties, and meet-and-greets with all your Disney Channel stars. Dance the night away, participate in themed activities, and create unforgettable memories at this enchanting event.
This totally awesome fan favorite event will be held on March 5th and March 7th 2024 and tickets cost $139 each. This price may sound steep but the Disneyland After Dark nights are super fun and can be worth it if it fits in your budget. The official event time is 9 PM to 1 AM BUT you can enter Disneyland Park up to 3 hours before the event starts, so that gives you up to 7 hours of park time!
After hours events at Disneyland are less crowded than normal park hours and you can get on and off major attractions in much less time. This in addition to the meet and greets, special snacks, shows, and more can make these events worth the extra cost for many people.
Best Time of Day to Visit Disneyland in March
When planning your visit to Disneyland in March, it’s important to consider the best time of day to visit. By strategically choosing the right time to go, you can avoid long lines and crowded areas.
One tip for determining the best time of day to visit Disneyland in March is to arrive early in the morning. There will be fewer crowds during the first few hours after opening. This gives you the chance to experience popular attractions with shorter wait times. Plus, the morning hours tend to have cooler temperatures, making it more comfortable for exploring the park.
Our family usually makes it a priority to rope drop any time we visit Disneyland. This means getting to the gates about 30 minutes (or more) before the posted opening hours.
Another option to consider is visiting Disneyland in the late afternoon or evening. As the day progresses, some visitors may start to leave the park, resulting in shorter lines for attractions. Additionally, the nighttime ambiance at Disneyland is magical, with beautifully lit attractions and special entertainment options.
It’s also important to check the park’s operating hours for the specific day of your visit. Disneyland often extends its opening hours during peak times, providing more opportunities for you to enjoy the park.
